Project ClimateAmbassadors: Providing civil protection expertise for higher education programs

Posted on | Project ClimateAmbassadors: Providing civil protection expertise for higher education programs

Samaritan International is part of the project ClimateAmbassadors, an initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ Higher Education program. The goal is to create a higher education course module (to be available as an elective for higher education students later on) on the challenges of the digital and green transition.

The SAM.I. contribution to the project is first-hand experience with several cases of climate change related natural disasters as well as expertise on related topics of citizen preparedness and resilience, including civil protection volunteering. SAM.I. members from France, Germany and Italy are taking part in the contributing expert group.

A first meeting in Valencia took place in April, where the focus was on different case studies of disasters. The project is currently in the phase of converting these cases into different formats such as podcasts or summarising booklet-style articles. These materials can then be used in the next steps of the project (e.g. as teaching materials).
