Podium places for Samaritan Austria, White Cross, Croix Blanche and ASSR at Samaritan Contest 2026

The Samaritan Contest 2026 ended on 26 July, after half a week of young volunteers showing off their first aid skills and meeting their peers from other countries.
The 10th iteration of the Contest took place in Oggau, Austria, on the banks of lake Neusiedl. More than 100 youths from 13 different organisations and 12 countries came together to compete and exchange.
The competition had several components – a “creative task” – a stage play with a first aid component, a written test on first aid and trivia questions about the host country and Europe, and the practical competition consisting of first aid scenarios and dexterity games. In the end, the winning team in the younger category (12-15 years) came from White Cross (South Tyrol), followed by ASSR (Slovakia) and ASBÖ (Austria) on second and third place, respectively. In the older category (16-21 years), the home team from ASBÖ came in first, with the second place going to Croix Blanche (France) and the third place to White Cross.

The event stretched across five days (including the travel days) instead of the usual four, allowing for a more comprehensive excursion program and a more relaxed amount of free time at the campground or at the adjacent swimming pool for the youths to socialise and get to know their counterparts from the other aid organisations.
Germany has been earmarked as the location of the next Samaritan Contest in 2028.
