From 17 to 19 January Samaritan International (SAM.I) organised its 4th project meeting of the Erasmus+ project TECS (Training and Further Education in Care and Social Services) in Poland.

The participants visited the Polish SAM.I member SFOP (Samarytańska Federacja Organizacji Pozarządowych) to get insights into their staff training in the Early Intervention Center and Special Kindergarten in the city of Tarnow and the Daily Care Center for Seniors in the city of Zakliczyn.

The project participants had the chance to visit both facilities and learn first-hand from the best practices presented. Mrs. Ewelina Kosińska, the director of the Early Intervention Center and Special Kindergarten and Mr. Rafał Barański, the director of the Regional Center for Social Policy in Krakow gave interesting presentations about the social services sector in Poland and how the staff is trained and managed as well as about how the facilities are run. Mrs. Barbara Żychowska, the director of SFOP gave an insightful presentation about the Daily Care Center in Zakliczyn.

The participants also had a chance to explore the beautiful city of Krakow and exchange their expertise upon several great Polish meals. The next TECS meeting is set to take place in Belgrade from 30 March to 1 April 2022.

TECS is co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ as a Key Action 2 project in vocational education.
